Story Book Farm Review - 1969 - 1970
 

November 1969 - Robert Bleck rebuilding the shack, outlining it with stone; Mike King started stamp collection

December - Thanksgiving at Angell’s house

January 1970 - Best year yet for selling Christmas trees - Frances and Herbert made $34.75. Caroline Bleck also did very well.

February - Kings moved into their new house

April - Kings building new pond; Easter Egg hunt inside due to snow, dinner at R. Bleck’s

May - Bobby Bleck building house; Robert Blecks painting their house blue

June - Robert Bleck building Tennis Court; Tim Bleck, reported for St. Louis Post Dispatch, flew with President Nixon to Hawaii, and asked for permission to stay in California for the teacher strike.

July - Interview with Chet Kendrick re: Robert Bleck Jr. house - anticipated finish date - February 1, 1971; Kings purchased 1956 McCormick International Tractor; Grabau family moved into Granary for summer; Map of SBF included 

August - Grabau’s staying in Granary; Sue King got a job as Secretary at Custom Alloy Corporation; Margi went to Keuka College

October - Woodglen vs. Story Book Farm Football Game; Work recommenced on the shack

November - Tim Bleck has hepatitis; SBF made 32 gallons of Apple cider

December - Tim Bleck Memorial Issue; Thanksgiving at Bob and Shirley Angell’s with 46 people

Story Book Farm Review - 1971
 

January - Ralph Bleck’s Shack has become a cottage; R&L Computers business going for 1.5 years; Tom Bleck taking drum lessons from Charles Tapper, former staff drummer with CBS; Robert Blecks got a German shepherd named Heidi, one of 6 dogs on SBF

February - Work beginning again on Robert Bleck Jr. house - project had stopped on Thanksgiving. The shack has a well.

March - Robert Bleck Jr. family moved to SBF with Lynn Bleck’s mother, Mrs. Taylor. Tommy King has mononucleosis

April - Herbert Rountree left H&R Block and doing taxes on his own; Big party for Allen Angels at King House - moving to Wisconsin. Janet Bleck bought house in Washington, DC

May - Tom King brought home 3 tire tubes to go tubing down lower SBF hill; New lane past Robert Bleck Jr. house up to the shack. 

June - Dunklee; Bobby and Rusty got new German Shepherd - Gretta; Ralph Bleck gets phone in shack; Cooleys clearing land for new house

July - Culvermere story - Tim and Janet Bleck met at Culvermere; Herbert and Frances took down wall in kitchen, and are working on outside of house

August - Richard Blecks moved to SBF from Florida

October - Thomas Kings building a barn; Robert Blecks moved into their house with Mrs. Jean Taylor. Built by Chet Kendrick

November - Roger Cooleys building a home; Tom and Doreen Bleck married at Slominski’s house, music played by Bob Bleck band. The Blecks reside at the Tom Lask house!

December - Thanksgiving news; Barn almost finished; Ralph has added a shower, heat and insulation and stereo tape machine to the Shack; Woodglen Athletic Association Basketball Team; Woodglen Football season starts

Story Book Farm Review - 1972
 

January - Frank Wolverton Dies; Allen Rountrees living in Carlstadt, NJ and had Rountrees for Christmas Eve.

February - Margi moved to Buffalo, NY; Cooleys moved into their new house

March - Willy Sloane arrives!; Richie Bleck re-doing his SBF home; Allen Angells visited for a week from Cedarburg

H. Rountree tax returns. Call 638-6474, cable code SquareBush!!; Mike got letter from President Nixon

April - President Nixon subscribes to SBF Review!

May - Mike to Washington, DC and stayed with the Chip Angells

June - Tom King is assistant coach to Jack Burd for Little League

August - Bob Bleck buys Steam Sauna for house; Chip Angells clearing property for house.

September - Al Angells moved to Dallas, TX.

October - Richie Bleck started third year of teaching at Bethlehem Twp. School; Ralph Bleck started working at Califon postoffice on Saturdays as mail delivery man; Margi moved to Boston, Massachusetts; Tommy King was in play, Oliver, produced by Clinton Summer Theater

November - The Angell Deck house started 1 month ago. Builder: Mr. Godby.

December - Calvin Grabau gets letter from President Nixon.

Story Book Farm Review - 1973
 

January - Frances Rountree, 58, announced candidacy for Lebanon Twp. Board of Education; Grabau house building commenced;

Woodglen - Bissel Football Classic at Boynton Farm; Richie and Teresa still live in Stone House.

February - Poochy, Brandy and Zillion - new dogs on farm; Much progress on Angell and Grabau houses; Chip and Gail family renting upstairs of Bobby Bleck’s house, awaiting completion of their Deck House.

March - Rob Angell broke leg playing high school football in November; Chip Angell going to night school for Real Estate, and  established Travel America Trailer Center for Playpen Hitch-Hut pull along trailers; Tom Bleck auditioned for band, and got job playing in Labrador.

John Angell has 10 month old lion at Sherwood Mobile Homes; Story Book Farmers unhappy about new No Outside Burning Act.

April - Janet Bleck started her own business called “Strings 'n’ Things”; Tom Bleck gigging in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, just after his return from Labrador Wolverton Farm sale fell through; Andy Bleck broke collar bone; Grabaus moved from Granary into their new home off of Hickory Run.

May - Troy and Ryan Bleck get chicken pox; Glen and Geka Hawswell move into Granary; SBF livestock update

June - Mike King goes to Washington, DC, stays with the Janet Bleck family, and meets members of Congress; Merger between Sherwood Mobile Homes and Travel America Trailer Center

July - Woodglen - Bissell Softball game. Bob and Shirley to Europe

August - SBF Carnival; Tom Bleck band tour continues in Roanoke and Atlanta

September - Ralph Bleck's stolen Jeep recovered; Woodglen-Bissell softball; Bob and Caroline Bleck vacation to visit family in NC, then saw son Tom play music in Myrtle Beach; Flemington Fair news; Rick Rountree receives real estate license.

October - Tom King finishes chimney; Doreen Bleck teaching in Plainfield; fireplace finished at Tom and Doreen Bleck's house; Woodglen-Milford game

November - Woodglen-Bissell football. Richie Bleck hit cow on road on foggy Halloween night

December - Woodglen Athletic Association busy month; Robby Angell winner of high school senior sports award; Thanksgiving

March - Frances Rountree elected to School Board; Cooley's barn complete. Rich's throw 50s party

April - King will resign as Editor of SBF; Robby Angell awarded Outstanding President Award for Key Club; Allen Rountrees visit the farm from Wisconsin; Herbert Rountree honored in SAY

May - Easter; Richie and Teresa's house being built

June - Pattenburg House softball; the Rick Rountrees moving into the Granary from Bloomsbury; Caroline Bleck puts up fence and gets 3 sheep. Tom Bleck schedule for his band, Family Affair; Chip Angell family moves into their new home; Bob and Zoe touring Mexico; Friday the pony was given to Jennifer Angell from Lynn Angell
